| The worm snake is probably the strangest snake found in the area. Assimilated to an earth worm, with very reduced eyes, it lives under the ground and only can be found occasionally under stones, where it is huntig for various insects, ant nests and similar. distribution: South Balkan, N to Albania, South Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, Middle East, NE Egypt to SE Asia; Caucasus. |
